MUSLIMS FROM THE LOST TRIBES OF ISRAEL
THE PATHANS /PASHTUN /PAKHTUN /AFGHAN OF AFGHANISTAN & PAKISTAN ARE THE
CHILDERN OF PROPHET YAQUB (ISRAEL) AND PROPHET ISHAQ (ISAAC)
Alay Salam
By Muhammad Kundi
Quran tells the 2 Divisions of Progeny of Prophet Ishaq
037.113
وَبَارَكْنَا
عَلَيْهِ
وَعَلَى
إِسْحَاقَ
وَمِنْ
ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا
مُحْسِنٌ
وَظَالِمٌ
لِنَفْسِهِ
مُبِينٌ
We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do
right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls.
1) Muslims (The Pathans) & (2) Non Muslims (The Jews) Are
THE TWO PARTS OF THE FAMILY OF PROPHET ISHAQ(Alayhay Salam)
BISMILLAHIR RAHMAAN NIR RAHEEM
The Pathan or Pashtun or Pakhtun or Ethnic Afghan are are an ethnic/religious
group of people, living primarily in Afghanistan, Pakistan, who speak Pashto
or Pakhto language and indigenous religion. The Pashtuns are the
world's largest patriarchal tribal group in existence. The total population
of the group is estimated at 52 million.
Pathans are the largest ethnic group in Afghanistan.Infact the word Afghan is
synonymous to Pashtun as told in the following reference:
The word Afghan ... first appears in history in the Hudud-al-Alam, a work by
an Arab geographer who wrote in 982 A.D." Until the advent of the
modern Afghan state in the 18th century, the word Afghan has been synonymous
with Pashtun.
The theory that the Pashtun or "ethnic Afghan"s are descended from
the ancient Israelites—more precisely, from the perspective of Jewish history
the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel— has a longstanding basis as a tradition among
the Pashtun themselves, was widely accepted by 19th century British
scholars, and has been accepted by some reasonably recent and prominent
individuals such as Itzhak Ben-Zvi, second President of Israel. Ref: http://www.pakhtun.com/israeliSource.htm
THE CLAIM BY THE PATHANS
AS BEING FROM BANI ISRAEL IS NOT JUST ORAL TRADITION
The claim of Afghans to be the Bani Israel (Children of Israel) is not
founded on oral tradition alone. It is supported by ancient monuments, old
inscriptions, manuscripts, and historical works, many in the public domain,
and many others in private collections.
WRITTEN REFERENCES OLDER THAN 1000 YEARS TELLS THE TRUTH
Apart from our own reference ,the oldest written reference we find is
HUDUD-AL-ALAM written in 982AD by an Arab Geographer which clearly tells that
PATHANS are not from ARAYANs but from BANI ISRAEL(infact he never mentioned
the word ARAYAN)
Also the word Afghan ... first appears in history in the Hudud-al-Alam and
infact until the advent of the modern Afghan state in the 18th century, the
word Afghan has been synonymous with Pashtun.
Now in moderen times some of the Western Historians tell us that the Pathans
are from the ARYANS and deny the ancient claim of the Pashtuns that they
belong to the Lost tribes of Israel. This doesnt make any sense that someone
from outside deny the claim of a whole Nation
ONE EXAMPLE OF A 700 YEAR OLD REFERENCE TELLING DETAILS ABOUT PATHANS ORIGIN
One of the most ancient manuscripts available is Rauza ul Albab fi
Tawarikh-ul-Akabir wal Ansab – The Garden of the Learned in the History of
Great Men and Genealogies – by Abu Suleman Daud bin Abul Fazal Muhammad
Albenaketi which was written in 1317 AD. The author in his Introduction
explains that ever since the times of Moses the ancestors of Afghans have had
to face great hardships. They were expelled from place to place and
exterminated. Their ancient ancestors were sacked more than once and carried
into captivity. In Chapter I a detailed history of Yaqub (Jacob) is given and
in Chapter II the genealogies of the Afghan tribes are further traced.
SUDDEN TWIST OF OPINIONS BY THE SO CALLED WESTERN HITORIANS
All the British Scholars in the 19th century never mentioned that
Pathans are Aryans. Then suddenly some so called historians of the modern
times in West claimed that Pathans/Pashtuns/Pakhtuns are Aryans and denied
the claim of the Pathans of being from the Lost Tribes of Israel. One Un
Biased Writer has said: "The Europeans always confuse things, when they
consider the fact that the Afghans call themselves Bani Israel and yet reject
their Jewish descent. Indeed, the Afghans discard the very idea of any
descent from the Jews. They, however, yet claim themselves to be of Bani
Israel." [Thomas Ledlie, More Ledlian, Calcutta Review, January,
1898]
If Pathans are ARAYANs then so are the MARHATAS or The BERHAMAN Hindus, The
Kashmiri Hindu Pandits, The Punjabi Arain Caste,The Jatt cast of Punajab, the
Germans and so many numrous castes......it makes a strange situation when we
say That Ahmad Shah Abdali was Fighting with the Pathans who were non Muslims
i.e the MARHATAS....
It doesnt make sense since the Physical n Facial features of Pathans are
entirely different from the Marhatas and PunjabisThese are all wrong claims
put forward by some modern writers .The fact is that if Pathan's forfather
have always called themselves as from the Childern of Prophet Israel then how
come some modern day Western Writers deny this fact
The realintention is only to change the meaning of ahadith which lead to the
fact of Pathans being the Bani Israelis...u can find many references about
this at
[*]The declaration of saying that PATHANS are Aryans come from some modern
days writers of the WEST and NOT FROM A SINGLE REFERENCE OF THE PAST or FROM
THE REFERENCES OF OUR OWN FORFATHERS
It is a pity that we follow the reference of the people who were in dark ages
for a thousand years (from 400 AD to 1400 AD),who had lost all sources of
knowledge, history and culture in these 1000 years of darkness and who
developed when they interacted with the Muslims in the Crusades which they
never admit this .According to Quran ,Sura Al-Hujurat, verse No=6 49/6
يَا
أَيُّهَا
الَّذِينَ

فَاسِقٌ

نَادِمِينَ
O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully
into it,…This verse tells us to be careful from the reports of the non
believers
The WEST tell us that the Pathans are from the ARYANS and deny the ancient
claim of the Pashtuns that they belong to the Lost tribes of Israel. Its a
funny thing to call Pasthuns as Arayans as the PUNJABI people, The Kashmiris
and so many ethnic groups in India belong to the ARYANS and they have nothing
in common with the Pathans. May Allah guide us all amen(allahuma salay ala
Muhammad).
THE PROOF
Let us prove the fact first by the ahadith of Dear Prophet(salallaho alayhay
wa sallam)
PROOF IN AHADITH OF DEAR PROPHET MUHAMMAD (Salallaho alayhay wa sallam)
According to Ahadith the main signs of the majority of the Muslims (and the
first followers) of the forces of Imam Mahdi are the following.
1. They will come from the East
2. They will come from the historical geographical region of Ancient
Khorasan.
3. They will be from a mighty warrior nation.
4. They will be from a poor Nation.
5. They are from a place with cold climate.
6. They will be from the race of Bani Ishaq/Al-e-Haroon/Bani-Israel or Nation
of ….liberated slaves (They all have the same meaning)
Now which race among the Muslims have all these 5 Sign?
The Pathans living inAfghanistan and Pakistan have all these 6 signs
because:
1. They live in the East.
2. They are the only people among Muslims considered to be
among the lost tribes of Israel i.e from Bani Israel/Bani Ishaq/Al e Haroon
/Nation of liberated slaves.
3. They live in the region of ancient Khorasan.
4. They belong to very poor nation.
5. They are considered to be a fierce Warrior Race.
6. They are from a place with cold climate.
Now the Ahadith are telling that in the East , in the Historical Region of
Khorasan,in the cold mountainous climate there exists a Warrior Race which
belong to the family of Propher Ishaq (Isaq)Alayhay Salam who is the father
of Prophet Jacob or Israel (Alayhay Salam).
This proves that the Pathans are from the Lost Tribes of Israel and no other
Nation is pointed out in these references from the Ahadith
SOME IMPORTANT FACTS
Below are the names/places common among the Pathans and the Bani-Israel.

16. KASH/KISH
Kish/Kash is is the name of numerous personalities mentioned in the
Chronicles, all from the Bani-Israel,.like 1) A Levite of the family of Merari

PLACES OF EXILE
In the he biblical Book Isaiah it is said :
Isaiah 11:11-12 :and he will raise a Banner to the Gentiles and will gather
the banished of Israel ,and the dispersed of Judah will he bring together
from the four corners of the earth".
The places of exile of the lost tribes also mentioned in the books also point
out the present day Afghanistan
The Locations of the Exile. Other locations mentioned as placed of exile were
the river Gozan, Habor, . Halah or Lahlah, and Hara. (Ref:Kings II,17 and 18;
Chronicles 1,5).
Also check in Chronicles 5:26 at http://bible.cc/1_chronicles/5-26.htm
“The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the
spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even
the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought
them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this
day.”
Where are these places of Exile?
According to Saadia Gaon, “ River Gozan ” is the river north of the city of
Balach in the north of Afghanistan. The river is known today as the “ Amu
Darya ”, and is the border between Afghanistan and Russia. Afghanistan
tradition states that the whole river was once known as the Gozen River.
“Habor” is located in the pass between Afghanistan and Pakistan , and is
called Pesh-Habor in Afghani (Pesh means Pass) after the city of the pass.
The city is known today as Peshawar.
“Hara” is the city of Harat near the Persian border. It is the third largest
city in Afghanistan . The prophecy of Isaiah states that the exile will bring
the tribes to the land of Sinim”:
“Behold , these shall come from far, and , lo, these from the north and
from the west, and these from the land of Sinim “( Isaiah 49:12) .
This implies that the exile may have started
CLOTHES LIKE CHILDERN OF ISRAEL
Narrated Hazrat Umama reported Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:
You and the Romans(Christians) will have four peace treaties *4. The fourth
peace would be at the hand of a person who would be from the
Al-e-Haroon( family of Prophet Haroon). This peace treaty would be for seven
years. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) was asked who would be the
Imam of the Muslims at that time. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)
said” That person would be from my family, his age would be 40 years ,his face
would be bright as a start and a black spot would be on his right cheek. He
would be wearing two Qutwani Cloaks. He will appear exactly as the person from
Bani Israeel. He will rule for 20 years and will conquer the cities of the
Mushrikeen(Idolaters)_Ref: Kanz-ul-Aamal, Page 268, Hadith No 3868).________________________________
WHAT IS MEANT BY QUTWANI CLOAKS ?
According to the reference of the kafirs i.e Britannica 1997 :Qutwani cloaks
resembles the "TALLIT" of present day as called by the
Israelis. Both Qutwani cloak and TALLIT have fringes (tzitzit) on borders and
its mostly made of Wool.. It generally falls across the head, neck, and
shoulders. However the Qutwani cloak is larger and more conspicuous prayer
shawl than the Tallit.
Now according to the Hadith there are “Two” Qutwani cloaks mentioned and are
made of Wool (as many scholars described it ) and are wrapped around the
body.Qutwani cloak is exactly like the cloaks worn by the Pashtoons of
Afghanistan and Pakistan and its also worn in the same way like the Qutwani
cloak described in the hadith and its explanation.
The Pashtuns wrap these cloak around them to protect them from cold weather
and they have fringes on the borders.Infact these cloaks are often the
necessary part of the Pashtun dress (In Contrast to the present day jews who
wear the so called Tziitzit as a symbol and which are much smaller to be
wrapped around the body.infact it has just become a something to show
off by jews and not essential part of dress).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallit
The above mentioned hadith telling that Imam Mahdi would be from the
family of Dear Prophet (salallaho alayhay wa sallam) but would NOT look like
Dear Prophet(salallaho alayhay wa sallam) in appearance clearly tells
that Mahdi will not be living among the Arabs .His appearance
described as wearing Qutwani cloaks and looking like a person from Bani
Israel shows that he must have been living among the Pathans for a long time
and therefore IMAM MAHDI would be dressed also like the Pathans.
The Arabs Do not wrap cloaks around them like this and also their cloaks
never have fringes and are not made of wool because is not so cold in middle
east
THE UN-RELIABLE SOURCES OF INFORMATION
According to Quran ,Sura Al-Hujurat, verse No=6 (The following are three
translations of the verse.)

YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news,
ascertain the truth….
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! If an evil-liver bring you tidings, verify it……
SHAKIR: O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look
carefully into it,…
The tragedy is that now majority of the world believes in the news, history
and other reports that come from the Kafirs of the West and is accepted with
the eyes closed with no investigation as the Quran tells us to do so.
Priority is given to the reference of those people who had been in dark ages
for one thousand years in which they lost all their own knowledge and
culture. They started learning was in the 1400 A.Ds after their interaction
with the Muslims in the Crusades. A Kafir from the West would tell us the
History of India and we will put aside our own written history . Maybe
inferiority complex(for no reason) is the cause of such folly. It is for that
reason, such unreliable resources are as much avoided as possible in this
essay
HISTORY CONCEALED
Its not amazing that so called famous historians of the west like
Sir Olaf Carou,("The Pathans” St. Martin's Press - New York 1958)
and Mr.Frizer Tiller,("The Afghanistan") have intentionally
tried to deviate the readers from the true origin of Pashtoons.Like for
instance all the above writers shows their :”innocence” and “ignorance” over
the true origin of the word “PATHAN”. All these are Christian writers and
they have intentionally skipped the fact that the word Pathan is of Israeli
origin as clearly written in the CHRONILCES-II that the Great grandson of
King Saul and grandson of Jonathon was called PETHAN.
Even Mr.Olaf Carou, in his book, is very much confused about the origin of
the word Pathan and gives his own stupid ideas about this word and not
mentioning the Chronicles-II at all. This is what we call Historical Forgery
which the West have a Mastery.
Also they have skipped the fact that was the name of the grandson of KING
SAUL was called AFGHANA..
Also these liars never motioned that the name of the second son of Levi and
father of Amram was called KOHAT (Ref: Gen. 46:11) and its also the name of a
famous city in the Pathan area of Pakistan.
LETS ASK ALLAH TO SAVE US FROM THE LIES AND FRAUD OF THESE DECEIVING WESTERN
HISTORIANS AND MAY WE NEVER TRUST THIER REFERENCES .AMEEN.
Note:Definition of Cronicles: Also called (in early Roman Catholic
translation into English) PARALIPOMENON I AND II, two Old Testament books
that were originally part of a larger work that included the books of Ezra
and Nehemiah. These three (Ezra and Nehemiah were one book in the Jewish
canon) were the final books of the Hebrew Bible.
WHY THE MODERN SO CALLED WESTERN HISTORIANS ARE BENT ON DENYING THE CLAIM OF
PATHANS?
.The reason is only to distort the meaning of ahadith where among Muslims
people from the family of Prophet Ishaq (alayhay salam) and Prophet Yaqub or
Israel (Alayhay salam) are told to be living in the East in the Historical
region of Khorasan
OTHER.HISTORICAL REFRERENCES
The claim of Afghans to be the Bani Israel (Children of Israel) is not
founded on oral tradition alone. It is supported by ancient monuments, old
inscriptions, manuscripts, and historical works, many in the public domain,
and many others in private collections. Of recent report is the 12th century
Hebrew cemetery a mile and a half from the base of the Tower of Jam in the
middle of a very desolate region of Western Afghanistan. [New York Times
Magazine, 42, Aug. 25, 2002]
One of the most ancient manuscripts available is Rauza ul Albab fi
Tawarikh-ul-Akabir wal Ansab – The Garden of the Learned in the History of
Great Men and Genealogies – by Abu Suleman Daud bin Abul Fazal Muhammad
Albenaketi which was written in 1317 A.D. The author in his Introduction
explains that ever since the times of Moses the ancestors of Afghans have had
to face great hardships. They were expelled from place to place and
exterminated. Their ancient ancestors were sacked more than once and carried
into captivity. In Chapter I a detailed history of Yacub (Jacob) is given and
in Chapter II the genealogies of the Afghan tribes are further traced.
Bukhtawar Khan in his most valuable universal history Mirat-ul-Alam – The
Mirror of the World – gives a vivid account of the journeys of the Afghans
from the Holy Land to Ghor, Ghazni, and Kabul. Similarly Hafiz Rahmat bin
Shah Alam in his Khulasat-ul-Ansab and Fareed-ud-Din Ahmad in
Risala-i-Ansab-i-Afghana provide the history of the Afghans and deal with
their genealogies.
Two of the most famous historical works on the subject are Tarikh-i-Afghana –
History of the Afghans – by Niamatullah, which was translated by Bernard Dork
in 1829, and Tarikh-i-Hafiz Rahmatkhani, by Hafiz Muhammad Zadeek which he
wrote in 1770. These books deal with the early history of the Afghans, their
origin and wanderings in general. They particularly discuss the Yusuf Zyes
(the Yusefzai, "Sons of Joseph") and their occupation of Kabul,
Bajoor, Swat, and Peshawar.
Additional authors Syed Jalal-ud-Din Afghani (Tarikh-i-Afghana / History of
Afghans), and Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah (Mun'ameen-i-Bani Israel, MS.), ex-Ruler
of Swat, deserve to be mentioned. Both these writers discuss the question
exhaustively and come to the conclusion that the Afghans represent the Lost
Tribes of Israel as viewed from the perspective of the Jewish/Western world.
If we turn to Anglo-Western writers during the time of the British Empire we
find that they also have come to the same conclusion. The first to reach such
is Henry Vansittart. In a letter which appeared in Indian Researches he
commented on the Israelitis descent of the Afghans. He expressed the opinion
that the claim of the Afghans to be Bani Israel are more than justified given
his own observations of their indigenous traditions. [Indian Researches,
1788, Vol. 2: 69]
Sir Alexander Brunes in his Travels into Bokhara, which he published in 1835,
speaking of the Afghans said: "The Afghans call themselves Bani Israel,
or the children of Israel, but consider the term Yahoodi, or Jew, to be one
of reproach. They say that Nebuchadnezzar, after the overthrow of Israel, transplanted
them into the towns of Ghore near Bamean and that they were called after
their Chief Afghana... they say that they lived as Israelites till Khalid
summoned them in the first century of the Mohammadans... Having precisely
stated the traditions and history of the Afghans I see no good reason for
discrediting them... the Afghans look like Jews and the younger brother
marries the widow of the elder. The Afghans entertain strong prejudices
against the Jewish nation, which would at least show that they have no desire
to claim – without just cause – a descent from them. [Sir Alexander Brunes,
Travels into Bokhara, Vol. 2:139-141.]
Brunes was again in 1837 sent as the first British Envoy to the Court of
Kabul. For some time he was the guest of King Dost Muhammad Khan. He
questioned the King about the descent of the Afghans from the Israelites. The
King replied that "his people had no doubt of that, though they
repudiated the idea of being Jews".
William Moorcroft traveled during 1819 to 1825 through various countries
adjoining India, including Afghanistan. "The Khaibarees," he says,
"are tall and have a singularly Jewish cast of features." At Push
Kyun, within Afghan territory, he came across a very old copy of the Old
Testament in Hebrew. [Moorcroft, Travels in Himalayan Provinces of Hindustan
and the Punjab; in Ladakh and Kashmir, in Peshawar, Kabul, Kunduz and
Bokhara, 12]
J.B. Frazer in his book, An Historical and Descriptive Account of Persia and
Afghanistan, which he published in 1843, says: "According to their own
tradition they believe themselves to be descendants from the [Hebrews]...they
preserved the purity of their religion until they met with Islam." [J.B.
Frazer, A Historical and Descriptive Account of Persia and Afghanistan, 298]
J.P. Ferrier wrote his History of the Afghans in 1858. It was translated by
Capt. W. M. Jesse. He too was disposed to believe that the Afghans
represented the Ten Tribes of Israel. In support of his view he recorded,
among others, a very significant fact: “When Nadir Shah marching to the
conquest of India arrived at Peshawar, the chief of the tribe of Yoosoof Zyes
(Sons of Joseph) presented him with a Bible written in Hebrew and several
other articles that had been used in their ancient worship and which they had
preserved. These articles were at once recognized by the Jews who followed
the camp.” – J.P. Ferrier, History of the Afghans, 4.
George Moore published his famous work The Lost Tribes in 1861. He gave
numerous facts to prove that these tribes are traceable to the Afghans. After
giving details of the character of the wandering Israelites, he said:
"And we find that the very natural character of Israel reappear in all
its life and reality in countries where people call themselves Bani Israel
and universally claim to be the descendants of the Lost Tribes. The
nomenclature of their tribes and districts, both in ancient Geography, and at
the present day, confirms this universal natural tradition. Lastly, we have
the route of the Israelites from Media to Afghanistan and India marked by a
series of intermediate stations bearing the names of several of the tribes
and clearly indicating the stages of their long and arduous journey."
[George Moore, The Lost Tribes]
Moore goes on to say: "Sir William Jones, Sir John Malcolm and the
missing Chamberlain, after full investigation, were of the opinion that the
Ten Tribes migrated to India, Tibet, and Cashemire [Kashmir] through
Afghanistan." [[George Moore, The Lost Tribes]
Moore has mentioned only three eminent writers on the subject. But reference
can also be made to General Sir George Macmunn (Afghanistan from Darius to
Amanullah, 215), Col. [G.B. Malleson (The History of Afghanistan from the
Earliest Period to the outbreak of the War of 1878, 39), Col. Failson,
(History of Afghanistan, 49), George Bell (Tribes of Afghanistan, 15), E.
Balfour (Encyclopedia of India, article on Afghanistan), Sir Henry Yule
(Encyclopedia Britannica, article on Afghanistan), and the Hon. Sir George
Rose (Rose, The Afghans, the Ten Tribes and the Kings of the East, 26). They,
one and all, independently came to the same conclusion. Another, Major H.W.
Bellew, went on a political mission to Kandahar and published his impressions
in his Journal of a Mission to Kandahar, 1857-8. He then wrote in 1879 his
book Afghanistan and Afghans. In 1880 he was sent, once again on another
mission to Kabul, and in the same year he delivered two lectures before the
United Services Institute at Simla: "A New Afghan Question, or "Are
the Afghans Israelites?" and "Who are the Afghans?" He then
published another book: The Races of Afghanistan. Finally he collected all
his facts in An Enquiry into the Ethnography of Afghanistan, which was
published in 1891.
In this work he mentions Killa Yahoodi ("Fort of the Jews") (H.W.
Bellew, An Enquiry into the Ethnography of Afghanistan, 34), as being the
name of the eastern boundary of their country, and also speaks of
Dasht-i-Yahoodi ("Jewish plain") (ibid., 4), a place in Mardan
District. He concludes: "The Afghan’s accounts of Jacob and Esau, of
Moses and the Exodus, of the Wars of the Israelites with the Amalekites and
conquest of Palestine, of the Ark of the Covenant and of the election of Saul
to the Kingdom, etc., etc., are clearly founded on the Biblical records, and
clearly indicate a knowledge of the Old Testament, which if it does not prove
the presence of the Christians at least corroborates their assertion that the
Afghans were readers of the Pentateuch up to the time of the appearance of
Mohammad." (Ibid., 191)
Note, it is well understood and undisputed that there have never been
Christian communities in Afghanistan pre- or for many centuries after the
dawn of Islam.
Thomas Ledlie wrote an article in the Calcutta Review, which he subsequently
elaborated and published in two volumes. He expressed his views on the
subject very clearly: "The Europeans always confuse things, when they
consider the fact that the Afghans call themselves Bani Israel and yet reject
their Jewish descent. Indeed, the Afghans discard the very idea of any
descent from the Jews. They, however, yet claim themselves to be of Bani
Israel." [Thomas Ledlie, More Ledlian, Calcutta Review, January, 1898]
Ledlie goes on to explain: "Israelites, or the Ten Tribes, to whom the
term Israel was applied – after their separation from the House of David, and
the tribe of Judah, which tribe retained the name of Judah and had a distinct
history ever after. These last alone are called Jews and are distinguished
from the Bani Israel as much in the East as in the West." [Ibid., 7]
Among more contemporary writers Dr. Alfred Edersheim says: "Modern
investigations have pointed to the Nestorians and latterly, with almost
convincing evidence (so far as it is possible) to the Afghans as descendants
from the Lost Tribes." [Dr. Alfred Edersheim, The Life and Times of
Jesus, the Messiah, 15]
Sir Thomas Holditch in his The Gates of India says: "But there is one
important people (of whom there is much more to be said) who call themselves
Bani Israel, who claim a descent from Cush and Ham, who have adopted a
strange mixture of Mosaic Law in Ordinances in their moral code, who (some
sections at least) keep a feast which strongly accords with the
Passover,...and for whom no one has yet been able to suggest any other origin
than the one they claim, and claim with determined force, and these people
are the overwhelming inhabitants of Afghanistan." – Sir Thomas Holditch,
The Gates of India, 49.
There are many additional references, recorded incidents, manuscripts and
artifacts related to the Hebraic history of the Pashtuns for the dedicated
objective researcher who seeks them out.
In his 1957 classic The Exiled and the Redeemed, Itzhak Ben-Zvi, second
President of Israel, writes that Hebrew migrations into Afghanistan began,
"with a sprinkling of exiles from Samaria who had been transplanted
there by Shalmaneser, King of Assyria (719 BC). From the recurrent references
in the Book of Esther to the "one hundred and twenty seven
dominions" of King Ahasuerus, the deduction is permissible that eastern
Afghanistan was among them." [[The Exiled and the Redeemed, 176]
Ben-Zvi continues, "The Afghan tribes, among whom the Jews have lived
for generations, are Moslems who retain to this day their amazing tradition
about their descent from the Ten Tribes. It is an ancient tradition, and one
not without some historical plausibility. A number of explorers, Jewish and
non-Jewish, who visited Afghanistan from time to time, and students of Afghan
affairs who probed into literary sources, have referred to this tradition,
which was also discussed in several encyclopedias in European languages. The
fact that this tradition, and no other, has persisted among these tribes is
itself a weighty consideration. Nations normally keep alive memories passed
by word of mouth from generation to generation, and much of their history is
based not on written records but on verbal tradition. This was particulary so
in the case of the nations and the communities of the Levant. The people of
the Arabian Peninsula, for example, derived all their knowledge of an
original pagan cult, which they abandoned in favor of Islam, from such verbal
tradition. So did the people of Iran, formerly worshipers of the religion of
Zoroaster; the Turkish and Mongol tribes, formerly Buddhists and Shamanists;
and the Syrians who abandoned Christianity in favor of Islam. Therefore, if
the Afghan tribes persistently adhere to the tradition that they were once
Hebrews and in course of time embraced Islam, and there is not an alternative
tradition also existent among them, the matter certainly deserves careful and
critical examination." [The Exiled and the Redeemed]
OTHER REFRENCES:
Emperor Jahangir of the MUghal Dynasty ordered his courtier to search for the
origin of the Pashtoons and so the famous book "Makhzan e Afghani” was
written in 1635,which also confirms the orgin of Pashtoons from the lost
tribes
According to the tradition, King Saul had a son called Jeremiah who had a son
called Afghana. Jeremiah died at about the time of King Saul's death and
Afghana was raised by King David and remained in the royal court during King
Solomon's reign. About 400 years later in the time of disorder of Israel, the
Afghana family fled to a land called Gur which is in central Afghanistan.
They settled and traded with the people of the area and in the year 662, with
the arrival of Islam, the sons of Israel in Gur converted to the prophet with
7 representatives of the Afghan. The leader of the sons of Israel was Qais
like the name of Saul's father.
According to this tradition Dear Prophet Muhammad(Salallaho alayhay wa
sallam), rewarded them and Qais's Hebrew name was changed to Arab-A-Rashid by

his kingdom. Hence they brought their old grandfather to the hills of Herat
and started living there.

CONCLUSION:
ITS IS REALLY A STRANGE THINS THAT ALL THE OLDER REFERENCES ADMIT THE
AUTHENTICITY OF THE CLAIM OF PATHANS AS THE LOST TRIBES OF ISRAEL BUT THE
MODERN DAY SO CALLED WESTERN SCHOLARS ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO DENY THIS FACT
BECAUSE BY DENYING THIS FACT, THE MEANING OF THE AHADITH CAN CHANGE AND NO
ONE WILL KNOW WHICH RACE IS MENTIONED IN THA HADITH
